• Requires DEP to establish maximum contaminant level for certain perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances in drinking water and establish private well testing program. (S4468), New Jersey. The bill requires the Department of Environmental Protection to set maximum contaminant levels for PFAS in drinking water within 12 months and creates a private well testing program with a testing and remediation assistance fund. • In Commonwealth services, further providing for assistance to fire companies and EMS companies and for State Fire Commissioner and providing for protection against PFAS chemicals and for firefighting protective equipment; in grants to fire companies and emergency medical services companies, further providing for award of grants; and imposing penalties. (SB980), Pennsylvania. The bill would prohibit manufacture of class B firefighting foam containing intentionally added PFAS chemicals beginning July 1, 2027 and use beginning January 1, 2028. It also increases loan limits for protective equipment purchases from $25,000 to $100,000, requiring PFAS-free compliance. Status: Introduced; the bill awaits committee or floor action in the chamber of origin.

• 1301:18-4-22 Advertising. Ohio. The Ohio Department of Commerce issued a Final File Amendment establishing pre-approval requirements for cannabis advertisements submitted to the Division of Cannabis Control, prohibiting misleading, indecent or child-targeted marketing, and requiring universal THC symbols and Division seals on qualifying ads. The rule takes effect October 5, 2026.

• Limousine, Taxicab, and Transportation Network Companies. Michigan. The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs announced approval of a Regulatory Impact Statement for proposed rules covering limousine, taxicab and transportation network companies, with filing and effective dates pending. Status: proposed.
